Scotus Rolf practitioner of Lotus Structural Integration

Scotus Dunshee, Certified Structural Integration Practitioner, Certified Massage Practitioner

I'm a Structural Integration/Rolf Method practitioner in Lake County, CA. I truly enjoy doing bodywork and I'm grateful for the opportunity to help people in this capacity.  I am a certified massage practitioner as well as a certified SI practitioner (through the Guild for Structural Integration in Salt Lake City). I'm committed to continuing my education and understanding of how the human body works and how I can best serve people, whether it be with something related to a chronic injury, or a person wanting a more comfortable way to live in their own body.

My interest in helping others began in my youth when I was taught massage and a form of intentional energy work. I grew up in a spiritual community in the San Francisco bay area, where a practice of yoga, meditation, and a disciplined and regeneratively healthful diet was all a part of my daily life.   My Grandmother, who is an original student of Moshe Feldenkrais, the creator of the Feldenkrais Method, was a big influence on me as well, and she always shared her love of healing through touch.

I've been a carpenter, building homes from start to finish. I owned a custom granite and marble fabrication and installation business for five years. I've been a musician since I was a teenager, my main instrument being the drum set. But I also play some guitar, didgeridoo, and I love to sing.  When I finished high school I moved to Monterey, CA to live in a Japanese Jujutsu Dojo (Seibukan Jujutsu).  I lived there for two years and learned a great deal about the way the body should and should not move.

Throughout my active and busy life, I started to develop some chronic physical pains (chiefly tendonitis in both elbows) and Structural Integration has been instrumental in my own healing and transformation process. It has taught me to live in a different and vastly more easeful way. I am happy to be able to share this with others, and I honor and respect everyone who entrusts their bodies to me. I recognize that this is a sacred trust and I treat my clients accordingly.
